Does This Sound Familiar?

You know your current revenue model isn't sustainable. But turning that awareness into action is where things stall.

  • You're relying on a single revenue stream or client base that leaves you exposed
  • You're doing long discovery calls, meetings that don't go anywhere, sending proposals that aren't converting or waiting for tenders and RFPs that take days to write
  • There's an idea that's been floating around for months but nobody's had the time or headspace to assess it properly — you don't have anything to actually sell
  • Grants are competitive, government funding shifts with policy and donations are unpredictable
  • Greater financial sustainability is a strategic priority but no one is sure where to start
  • You're worried about pursuing the wrong opportunity, or putting the organisation at risk

Maybe it's a fee-for-service offering, a new product line, a social enterprise arm, a program that could be funded sustainably, a capability you could monetise, or assets you could harness and leverage. The opportunity might be real, but without structured thinking, it stays an idea on a whiteboard.

Facilitation in action

What This Program Does

This program brings your leadership team together for a facilitated day to take a serious look at how you can build a sustainable revenue stream.

It's not a business plan. It's not a grant application. It's not a feasibility study you'll need a consultant to interpret.

It's a structured process to assess the opportunity, agree on the criteria for testing it, test whether it's realistic given your capacity and capability, and map out the full path from idea to sustainable income. That path might involve a business case, a funding strategy, a pilot, an evaluation and eventually implementation. We help you see the full journey and work out what needs to happen next.

Three Clear Phases

1

Assess

We understand your current revenue model, where it's vulnerable, and what opportunity is on the table. If you don't have a specific opportunity yet, we help you identify one.

2

Test

A structured, facilitated day with your leadership team to evaluate the opportunity, test strategic alignment and viability, and map out what it would take to pursue it.

3

Map

We produce a clear action plan that lays out the full pathway ahead, what needs to happen in the next stage and who owns it.

Here's How It Works

Pre-Work

You complete a short intake questionnaire and we have a scoping call (30 to 45 minutes) with you or your key decision-makers. We review any relevant documents, including your current strategic plan and financial position. This ensures we understand your context and the day is productive from the first minute.

Facilitated Day (In Person or Virtually)

Jodie facilitates a structured session with your leadership team. Rob provides support. Together, we'll:

  • Assess your current revenue model and where it's vulnerable
  • Evaluate the revenue opportunity on the table (or help you identify one)
  • Test whether it's strategically aligned and realistic
  • Map out the stages required to take it from idea to sustainable revenue (business case, funding, pilot, evaluation, implementation, or whatever applies)
  • Define what needs to happen in the next stage specifically
  • Reality-check resources, capability and risks

Revenue Initiative Action Plan

Within five business days, we deliver a revenue initiative action plan (5 to 10 pages) that captures what was agreed, the full pathway ahead, what needs to happen next and who owns it.

Follow-Up Call

We walk you through the action plan on a short call to make sure it's clear and ready to act on. If you stall at a later stage or need help mapping out the next step, we can come back in for another engagement.

What You'll Be Able To Do

Is This Right for You?

This is for you if you're...

  • A not-for-profit, social enterprise, B Corp or purpose-driven business that relies heavily on a single income source
  • Sitting on an idea or opportunity that could generate revenue but it hasn't been properly assessed
  • Ready to bring your leadership team together to think seriously about financial sustainability
  • After a realistic plan, not a theoretical exercise
  • Willing to look honestly at your capacity and what's achievable

This isn't for you if you're...

  • Looking for someone to write a grant application or business plan for you
  • In the middle of a financial crisis that needs immediate intervention (see Respond to Change)
  • After a generic brainstorming session with no structured output
  • Not ready to commit resources to exploring a new revenue stream
The leaders who drive purpose-led organisations can see that long-term sustainability depends on finding new ways to generate revenue. The gap isn't awareness. It's having a structured way to assess, test and plan. That's what this program provides.

Why Work With Us?

Jodie and Rob

We're Jodie and Rob, co-founders of Happy Changemakers and authors of Package Promote Scale. Together, we've helped over 500 businesses and organisations plan, deliver and grow.

Jodie brings strategic thinking and practical experience in adapting to change and diversifying income streams, drawn from decades in the not-for-profit sector. Rob brings structured thinking around commercial acumen, pricing, packaging and turning ideas into workable plans.

We designed this program because we've seen too many purpose-led organisations know they need to diversify revenue but never have the structured space to work out how.

Ready to Build Sustainable Revenue?

When the opportunity is properly assessed and the pathway is clear, your organisation can move toward financial sustainability with confidence, not guesswork.

Jodie and Rob deliver every program personally, so places are limited.

Frequently Asked Questions

That's fine. Part of the facilitated day involves identifying where the opportunity might be, based on your organisation's capabilities, assets and strategic direction. We'll help you find it.

No. What you'll get is a clear assessment of the opportunity, the full pathway ahead and a specific action plan for the next stage. If the next stage is a business case or pilot, the plan will tell you exactly what that involves and who owns it. A detailed business plan would be a separate piece of work.

That's a valuable outcome too. Better to find out through a structured process than after you've invested time and money. If the opportunity isn't right, we'll help you understand why and what to consider instead.

The program is designed to be delivered in person. Revenue and sustainability conversations benefit from the depth and focus that face-to-face facilitation provides. If circumstances require a virtual option, get in touch and we can discuss what's possible.

We will share ways that you can keep on track and move forward in the facilitated session, Revenue Initiative Action Plan and Follow Up Call. Revenue diversification is a journey, not a single event. If you stall at a later stage, you can access our Coaching service or we can come back in for another engagement to help you map out the next step.
